2022 NBA Top Draft Pick Signature Sneaker Deal with Jordan Brand

The No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft decided one of the most important decisions of his career: the sneakers he’ll wear. According to Shams Charania of AthleticismOrlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero finalizes sponsorship deal with Jordan Brand.

Last week, we discussed the signing process for rookie sneaker deals, specifically as it relates to Banchero. The former Duke Blue Devil wore Nike in college, then alternated between Puma, adidas and Jordan basketball shoes throughout the summer.

We assumed that Banchero would become a Jordan Brand athlete after sporting a pair of Air Jordan 36 Low in the “Luka” colorway. Unfortunately for fans, these shoes sold out in nearly every size and will fetch between $200 and $300 on the resale market.

Banchero’s future earnings with Jordan Brand have a low floor and a high ceiling. Most rookie sneaker offers are heavily loaded with incentive clauses. The 19-year-old will continue to wear either the signature Air Jordan line or the shoes of other Jordan-branded athletes with their own signature line, such as Russell Westbrook, Zion Williamson and Luka Donic.
