25 cool things to buy, according to Vogue editors
As Vogue editors, we often talked about poetry about the latest track must-haves and home decoration treasures, but not all of the items we talk about on this website end up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are great to see – they’re fun to look at and inspire fun conversations – however, of all those cool things to buy, what did we end up buying? Each month, we’ll highlight those special finds that our editors have welcomed into their lives — all the things that have made us rejoice as buyers.
From luxury sandals to crochet dresses topping our shopping lists, it’s clear that vogue the staff members are more than happy to welcome sunny days. And our summer shopping habits go beyond simply updating our wardrobes. In May, a few editors also tweaked their beauty routines with skin-brightening products and SPF-filled foundations.
If you’re wondering what some of the cool things to buy are right now, here’s an overview of our baskets.

I’m all about an anklet, and this summer I really want to get a stack to adorn my feet. Missoma has a good range of styles, from super dainty to chunky to the boho bead variety, so there’s plenty to choose from. Personally, I like to mix and match.

I recently bought a pair of Prada fisherman sandals, and needless to say, I’m obsessed. I love that it’s tough enough for the streets of New York, breathable to wear on sunny summer days, and overall chic. And did I mention they’re comfortable too? Although the exact pair I purchased have sold out, there is still the chunky “Monolith” style available in a few colorways.

It took me a long time but I finally found the perfect outfit formula that I’m just cool but still look cute to wear on weekends. It’s the Skims Soft Lounge Dress, and it’s so soft and comfy, kind of like a sweatshirt but better. Plus, I made it my mission to start making green juices every morning at home, so I indulged in a little retail therapy to help kick-start my good habit. I came across these aesthetic bottles on TikTok, and I’m glad I bought them.

My love of sneakers as the only shoe you need for summer is well documented. But what about the black tie events of the summer? Enter the satin espadrille. I picked up these satin Castañers for a wedding in Italy over Memorial Day weekend and the huge experienced buyers rejoice. They are as chic as they are comfortable and even allowed me to refuse the offerings of slippers spread out on the dance floor around midnight.

Now that we’ve (unofficially) kicked off summer, my yoga practices have moved outside and got a little more spirited. To help beat the heat, I’ve been obsessed with this breathable Adidas yoga bodysuit. It hugs my body in all the right ways when I hold any pose and looks great when paired with a pair of shorts. I also needed a new, lightweight yoga mat that I could easily carry throughout the season, and that would provide excellent grip for the hottest days. For less than $50, this Manduka couldn’t be more perfect.

Despite the fact that the humidity in New York always makes for a fresh complexion, whether you want one or not!, I still can’t leave the house without RMS’ highlighter. Dab a little on your cheekbones and cupid’s bow, and ready to roll.
Samantha Sussman, Social Media Director of Creative Development and Programming
I’m normally a girl with white carnations, so this black Doen act is perfect for getting me out of my comfort zone. I can’t wait to wear it to the office and beyond. I also bought the Kosas foundation. Yes, I saw it all over TikTok and gave in – it has an amazing blur effect!

When it comes to sportswear, Nike reigns supreme. Not only do they provide extreme comfort, but they also look great and add a casual touch to a dressier look. These Nike Air Force x Supreme are certainly no exception.
Buying this special edition Air Force Ones was even more exciting than usual since shopping for ultra-buzzy Supreme items is a pleasure in itself.

I stocked up on my summer white best-of-basics. These are my favorite tees and tank tops (of all time!) and my new favorite white jeans that I’ll be wearing all summer long.
Elisee Browchuk, Experiences Production and Marketing Manager
This summer, I’m leaning into crochet everything. I fell in love with this Staud fruity dress. It is discreet but playful and perfect for balmy summer nights. Whether I’m heading to the beach or the farmer’s market, I know this Faithful the Brand dynamic tote will suit all my needs and more.

Believe it or not, this is the first time since attending my Catholic college that I own not one but of them white buttonholes. Crafted from organic cotton, this Wilfred Free Relaxed shirt from Aritzia stood out thanks to its loose fit that looks great on its own or as a cover up when the summer breeze kicks in.
Irene Kim, Production and Editorial Coordinator
I bought this Rachel Comey skirt earlier this month at the infamous Rachel Comey sample sale which was just a few blocks from my apartment! On the penultimate day of the sale, I found this denim skirt under a huge pile of clothes, and it happened to fit me, so I immediately had to buy it. It’s a staple in my spring-to-summer transitional wardrobe this month, and I paired it with knee-high leather boots, colorful tank tops and blouses. Sadly, it’s no longer sold on the site, but if you find one on resale sites like The RealReal, it’s a purchase I highly recommend to anyone!

Everyone has become obsessed with Formula 1 lately because of Drive to survive on Netflix, and it’s great, but the real action, as far as I’m concerned, is the moto racing version of that, MotoGP, and the doc series Unlimited MotoGP on Amazon. So far this season Ducati have been totally dominant – it doesn’t hurt that they make the finest production bikes on the face of the earth either – and being a super fan I took used to wear this version of the jacket team. (In my mind, I’m going straight to 226 mph.)

Although next-level nails are taking over the fashion scene, for us minimalist girls, rings are still our top accessory for some serious “hands-on candy” time. Currently obsessed with Minnie Lane’s Art Deco-inspired Zelda ring with a sapphire stone. My fingernails may still be bare, but my hands are screaming with opulence!

I desperately need new swimsuits for beach season and thought this set would be perfect for an upcoming trip to the Hamptons. The crochet bikini top doubles as a crop top, so I can easily throw on some jeans or boyfriend shorts and instantly have a cute summery fit for hitting the town.
There’s no better way to kick off the start of summer than buying (or in this case, splurging on) a new pair of sunglasses. I want to add more color to my wardrobe and thought these red Prada sunglasses were the perfect start. I’ll be wearing these everyday for the foreseeable future, preferably on the beach with a margarita in my hand!
