Adidas launches new neon Hurricanes “Miami Nights” uniform
The subject of Miami Hurricanes football has been a hot topic since Mario Cristobal took over in December. Now there’s a neon-tinted uniform to add to the excitement.
Adidas released news of its new all-black alternative uniform for the rods on Friday. “Neons. Miami Nights,” UM football tweeted along with a 45-second video about the new “Miami Nights” united.
The video shows all black with neon orange trimmed jerseys and neon lime green jersey numbers.
The black helmets have a thin neon orange stripe and a thin neon green stripe with what appears to be a thick, lighter blue stripe in between. The word Miami is written in script on the front of the helmet.
According to the UM post, the jerseys will “go on sale 8/15/22.” It’s Monday.
UM did not initially reveal which game the uniforms will be worn to.
All in all, a pretty cool look for those into alternate uniforms.
On Thursday, the Hurricanes teased the announcement with a social media post that read “dark mode. Tomorrow.” There was a button graphic saying “Dark Mode Off” on top of a graphic showing the orange and green U with the Miami skyline behind the water. It went into “dark mode on” with the U lit up at the neon sign and Miami skyline at night.
