The NYPD released surveillance video over the weekend that shows two suspected burglars as they attempted to break into a home in Fresh Meadows earlier this month.

Security footage shows a woman approaching the house, on 164th Street between 71st Avenue and 72nd Avenue near the Emerald Playground, and ringing the doorbell. Shortly after, a man approached the door and pulled a crowbar out of a backpack he was carrying across his chest.

The suspects tried to force the door, but without success. The couple took off in an unknown direction, police said. The incident was reported to the 107th Precinct of Fresh Meadows by a 39-year-old man who lives at the home. He was not at home at the time of the attempted burglary, police said.

The NYPD released close-up photos of the suspects and described the woman as in her 30s, with a medium complexion, “full build”, with long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black Adidas baseball cap, purple t-shirt and blue jeans.

The man is described as being in his 30s, with medium skin tone, medium build, short black hair and a tattoo on his upper left arm. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a Puma logo on the front, a black t-shirt and yellow work gloves.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782).
