Lululemon enters the footwear industry and strengthens the competition against Nike, Adidas and New Balance
Lululemon is a favorite when it comes to leggings, but now the popular sportswear brand has something new on the radar.
The retailer is gearing up to enter the footwear industry starting March 22 with Blissfeel, its first-ever running shoe, according to a statement.
The shoe will be available online and in select stores across North America, in addition to other select markets. The sneakers will retail for $148 and come in 10 colors.
Lululemon describes Blissfeel as “a running shoe designed with a motion-supportive upper and energy-filled underfoot foam cushioning technology that work together to make the miles effortless and enjoyable as you cover the distance” .
Three other styles will also be released in the “coming months” – Chargefeel, Strongfeel and Restfeel.
Adding sneakers to Lululemon’s product line gives the brand even more value in the athleisure market, as it competes with Nike, Adidas and New Balance.
Already a popular brand among activewear, adding sneakers to its product line will make the brand even more valuable in the athleisure market.
As for men’s footwear, Lululemon is gearing up to launch a line in 2023, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Lululemon has an ongoing “We Made Too Much” sale full of discounted leggings, tanks and jackets – to name a few.
