Pharrell’s Humanrace Skincare Drops Clothing Collection

Humanrace, Pharrell Williams’ perennially depleted skincare brand, is about to restock – and ditch the clothes, too.

On September 27, a range of Humanrace products will be released exclusively at SSENSE. The latest installment in Pharrell’s long-standing partnership with adidas – the Humanrace Sičhona sneaker – will also debut via the luxury retailer.

Of course, fans will also be able to get hold of the Humanrace skincare. In just a few days, SSENSE will be offering Pharrell’s beloved Three-Step Routine: Rice Powder Cleanser, Lotus Enzyme Scrub, and Moisturizing Cream.

The merchandise appears to be an extension of Pharrell’s recently unveiled installation at SSENSE Montreal.

Dubbed House of Humanrace, the site-specific project is exactly what its title suggests. The immersive space guides visitors through the brand experience, including products, specially commissioned artwork, and a collection of Pharrell’s most treasured possessions, curated by none other than Tyler, the creator.

SSENSE’s decision to store Humanrace is a wise one. Branded products often sell out within minutes (uh, did you seen how flawless Pharrell’s skin is is ?!), and skin care is a category that has flourished throughout the pandemic.

While it remains to be seen whether Humanrace clothing performs well, the pieces go beyond mere merch. Instead of just putting a logo on a shirt, Pharrell and SSENSE offer clean basics – including cropped pants and a work jacket, rare views in product lines – that thoughtfully commemorate Humanrace.

Pharrell is 48 (lies!), But from the look of his skin, he might as well be a newborn baby. Glowing and talented, the artist himself is reason enough to add Humanrace to both your wardrobe and your medicine cabinet.
